Our Parish School of Religion (PSR) program supports the faith formation of children in Kindergarten through 8th grade who do not attend Catholic school. Through age-appropriate lessons, prayer, and community, students grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and their relationship with God.
Classes are held each week from 10:00–11:15 AM. We begin each session together in Seton Hall before students transition into their grade-level groups.
Children typically celebrate the Sacrament of First Reconciliation for the first time in second grade. Preparation takes place during PSR classes and is supported by parent meetings at the start of the year. This sacrament is usually celebrated in December.
First Holy Communion is an important milestone in a child’s faith journey, typically celebrated in second grade. Preparation occurs through PSR classes, along with additional parent meetings to help families fully participate in the process. The celebration of First Communion is usually held on the first Sunday of May.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is typically celebrated in eighth grade and marks a deepening of a young person’s commitment to their faith. Preparation includes sessions for candidates, as well as opportunities for parents and sponsors to be involved in the journey.
