Senora Wanda Schwarzwaelder graduated from Ohio State University with a license to teach Spanish in grades K-12. She taught part time at Plain Local Schools for two years, and has taught Spanish for 11 years in grades 7-8 in Washington, PA.
Senora Lopez-Cruz is originally from Mexico and brings a cultural perspective to each lesson. |
Art, dance and song are all incorporated into lessons to provide cultural enrichment and vibrancy to Spanish Courses at Our Lady of Peace School.
Pre-K through Grade 3
Students through Grade Three are learning basic vocabulary such as colors, numbers, foods, animals, family and parts of the body.
Grades 4 and 5
Grades 4 and 5 students are learning basic conversation and are beginning to read and write in Spanish.
Grades 6 through 8
Grades 6 through 8 students read, write and converse. They are also learning verb forms and grammar.
Learning a Language/Learning a Culture
Christ the Servant Parish is committed to a just immigration reform. We understand this in our community, as we have a large community of Hispanic/Latinos represented in Our Lady of Peace School and in our Enrichment-Outreach Partnership after-school program.
