Sixth Grade
Mrs. Kris Botti is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas and Walsh University. She has been teaching at Our Lady of Peace since 2000, five years in third grade and five years in sixth grade.
Mrs. Botti married her husband Pete at Our Lady of Peace Parish in 1987. They have two children. Mrs. Botti's hobbies include reading, cross-stitch, shopping and gardening. |
Sixth Grade Curriculum
Math (Pre-Algebra): Square roots/exponents, absolute value, order of operations, multi-step equations
Religion: Study of the Old Testament with emphasis on characters; Weekly Gospel study
Health: Taking care of your personal health: nutrition, drug/alcohol awareness; setting/accomplishing goals
Reading: New vocabulary as well as reading/evaluating a variety of genres: biographies, myths, poetry, articles, fiction; Book reports are due each quarter. Word Wisdom is an extension of our vocabulary studies.
Spelling: Approximately 14-20 words per week. Class spelling bees are held throughout the year.
