Kindergarten

Mrs. Jennifer Zenobi has been teaching Kindergarten at Our Lady of Peace School for 17 years. She graduated from Mount Union College with a B.A Degree in Elementary Education.

Her family includes her husband of 30 years, Rob, her wonderful daughter, Kristin, son-in-law Mark, and her "precious" twin granddaughters. In her spare time, Mrs. Zenobi loves spending time with her family. She loves to read, cook, and play with her mini-dachshund, Rudy.

Kindergarten Curriculum Highlights

In Kindergarten each morning, we recite "The Golden Rule." We strive to model our behavior after it.

Religion: We learn that God is the creator of everything and that He blesses us in so many ways.

Math: We learn about patterning, graphing, numbers 1-50, addition, subtraction, 2-3-dimensional shapes and fractions.

Social Studies: We learn about the United States and how to be a good citizen.

Phonics: We learn letter-sound recognition and blending phonemes to make words.

Reading: We learn reading skills such as recognizing sight words, sentence structure, punctuation, nouns and verbs. We use these skills to read our kindergarten leveled readers.

Creative Curriculum

After learning about The First Thanksgiving, we celebrate with a big 'turkey' Thanksgiving Feast.  Check out the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast that Mr. and Mrs. Zenobi cooked each year!

In December, we celebrate The Polar Express. We wear our pajamas while listening to the story and enjoy a special treat.

In May, we honor our Mothers at our special "Mother's Day Tea."
