Pastoral and Financial
The Pastoral and Finance Council’s of our parishes is an extremely important consultative and advisory council to assist me in the pastoral and administrative care of our parishes. In the past, both parishes have had a parish council and finance council that has been in place for several years, and for which I am appreciative of their help and assistance. With the process of merger occurring in the parish communities of Our Lady of Peace and Saint Paul’s, one of many guiding principles and goals is to have one council serving the pastoral and administrative care. Currently, there are four aspects that will build the future of the parish. These are the: Liturgical life, Educational life, Community Life and Social Concerns, and Finances. It is my goal that the Council brings an expertise in each area and that the council can actively advise me as Administrator and Pastor in order that my decisions are not arbitrary, that they are transparent, and that they serve the needs of the Catholic Community.
To that end, the process for creating one pastoral council dealt with an arm associated with the the liturgical, educational and social concern of our parishes and another arm that will deal with the financial aspects. This council would have a representative from each of our parish on each of the four standing committees, and two additional representatives from each parish serving as co-chair facilitators.
